At The CPA Publisher, we welcome thoughtful, practitioner-focused article contributions from Certified Public Accountants. Our process ensures both quality and relevance while supporting authors through a transparent and professional editorial cycle.
1. Article Pitch
Prospective authors begin by submitting a short article pitch via email. This pitch should outline the topic, key points, and relevance to practicing CPAs. We encourage timely and practical subjects in areas such as accounting, auditing, tax, ethics, financial planning, business advisory services, or regulatory developments.
2. Pitch Acceptance
Once reviewed, selected pitches receive an acceptance notice, at which point the author is invited to submit a full manuscript. Pitches may also receive feedback for refinement before acceptance.
3. Manuscript Submission
Authors submit a draft article (900 to 1,400 words, up to 2,000 by pre-arrangement only) in Word format, adhering to our formatting, citation, and ethical guidelines. Submissions must include:
- A 150–250 word abstract
- 3–5 keywords
- Full author credentials and contact info
- Disclosure of any conflicts of interest
- Consult our Writing Guidlines
4. Editorial Review
Each article undergoes an internal review to ensure it aligns with our scope, formatting standards, and professional ethics. Authors may be asked to make initial revisions before moving forward.
5. Blind Peer Review
Qualifying submissions are evaluated by a peer CPA or another qualified reviewer. This blind review assesses the article’s technical accuracy, clarity, and contribution to the profession. Feedback is provided to the author for revisions if needed.
6. Final Approval & Publication
Revised manuscripts are reviewed for editorial consistency and compliance. Accepted articles are scheduled for publication in both our print and digital issues. Authors receive a complimentary copy of the issue in which their work appears.
7. Post-Publication Rights
Authors may not retain copyright but may republish their article after a 90-day exclusivity period, with appropriate attribution.
